Carlisle Rotary May Newsletter (May 04, 2024)

This month is National Mental Health Awareness Month. Mental Health is a major focus for Rotary International this year.

I would also like to declare May as Membership Month for Carlisle Rotary.

Every member should consider bringing a prospective member to one of our meetings! That way we can Create Hope in the World and share the fun of being a Rotarian!

Service:

• The Disc Golf Fundraiser will raise awareness and funds for:

Bethany House of Cumberland County: Supports women aging out of the foster care system

Bosler Memorial Library

Hope House of Cumberland Valley: Helps women who are seeking refuge from domestic violence in the home.

Selfless Service: Veteran Assistance

Supportive Partnerships for Youth: Provides activities and assistance to underprivileged youth.

Service Above Self!

Don't forget to pick up your hanging baskets on Wednesday, May 8, 2024 from 12-6pm at 625 Hamilton St., Carlisle, PA.

We will hang the downtown flower baskets on May 11, 2024. Come on out by 745am to First Presbyterian Church to help out.

Benjamin Snyder, a senior at Boiling Springs High School, was recognized as our April Student of the Month based on leadership, service, and scholastic achievement to his school and community.
Ben plans to attend Liberty University

Carlisle Rotary continued its beautification efforts by planting these lovely flowers outside of Comfort Suites Hotel in Carlisle. We also supported the Carlisle Exchange Club with their Pinwheel Project publicizing child abuse. Our pinwheel garden in located in a planter in front of the Comfort Suites. All profits will be donated to Domestic Violence of Cumberland and Perry County.
