Student of the Month
December 2018
 
The Rotary Club of Carlisle recently honored Adam Jackson as the December Student of the Month.  He is a senior at Carlisle High School and is the son of Virginia and David Jackson of Carlisle. He received this recognition for exhibiting outstanding leadership, service, and scholastic achievement to both his school and community.
Adam ranks in the top ten percent of his class, is a four year member of the Student Council and a member of the Model United Nations club. He has played on the varsity soccer team for the last four years and served as team captain in his senior year. He has also played club soccer for four years and served as a volunteer in the Big Brothers/Big Sisters program.
He plans on attending college and hopes to attend Brown University this fall.

The Rotary Club of Carlisle recently honored Skylar Diehl as the November Student of the Month.  She is  a senior at Big Spring High School. She received this recognition for exhibiting outstanding leadership, service, and scholastic achievement to both his school and community.
Skylar is a member of the National Honor Society, Club Aduro, Vice President of the Mock Trial Team and Vice President of the Tri-M Music Honor Society. She is also a member of the Marching Band, Concert Band, Pit Band and the CCMEA County and PMEA District Band. She has participated in the Macy's Great American Marching Band Thanksgiving Day Parade in 2016 & 2017 and will be participating in the Cavalcade of Bands Tournament of Roses Honor Band in New Year's Day Rose Parade this year. 
She is active in her church's Youth Group and has interned with the Yellow Breeches Middle School Band assisting with teaching and administrative duties. She plans to attend a four year university and major in education and music with her goal to become a music teacher.

The Rotary Club of Carlisle recently honored Adam Diech as the October Student of the Month.  He is  a senior at Boiling Springs High School and his parents are Craig and Kristen Diech of Carlisle. He received this recognition for exhibiting outstanding leadership, service, and scholastic achievement to both his school and community.
Adam is a member of  the Math Honors Society, Vice President of the National Honor Society and President of the Chemistry Club. He is a Quiz Bowl team member and Debate team member. He is also a member of UNICEF, a member of the PA Friends of Jazz Youth Band, a tenor sax player in the marching band, first tenor in the Jazz band and plays the bass clarinet in the Concert Band
He has spent the last two summers as an intern at Harrisburg University, designing a new course and at Princeton University performing computer and neuroscience research. He plans to attend college majoring in Physics or Mathematics and attending graduate school to pursue a career in Physics or Computer Science.

The Rotary Club of Carlisle recently honored Grace Colestock as the September Student of the Month.  She is  a senior at Carlisle High School and her parents are Keith and Amy Colestock of Carlisle. She received this recognition for exhibiting outstanding leadership, service, and scholastic achievement to both her school and community.
Grace is a member of the National Honor Society, a member of Class Council and a Big Brother, Big Sister Volunteer. She has worked as a Day Camp Leader and is active in her Church and volunteers for Special Olympics.
She  plans to attend Shippensburg University to major in early childhood/elementary education to become an English as a Second Language teacher.
